On the edge of the lake is a satyr serving as a boatman, but he refuses to ferry the party across the lake without them presenting tickets for the party. Instead, he gestures towards a small wooden shack built around stairs leading in the underground that supposedly lead to an alternate way across the lake.

The party boldly walks up to the front door of the library and enters. Yornan is mistaken for Fogbert Whitwurt, the judge of the contest that is the most important event of the evening. He uses this to quickly shepherd all of the others inside. Learning that he also needs to bring the prize that is to be awarded, he concocts a story about having it delivered and distracts the concierge and his helpers as the look for the phantom package delivery.

As the party is pushes their way into the crowd of fairies, satyrs and other fey creatures, they are each engaged by a party goer.

Archduchess Leylandra, a female nymph that is the hostess of the party begins speaking to Rhagal about her desire to win the Best Dressed contest that is to be judged by the missing Fogbert. She fears that the live, rainbow cat scarf worn by another contestant is so striking that she will be unable to win unless she gets to wear the scarf. As the hostess, she can grant the party access to the library tower, but she wants the cat scarf in return. By the way, the voice of Alluria contemptuously whispers to Rhagal that Leylandra is a “slutbag”.

Severus, an androgynous-looking male, colored green and covered with tattoos of vines, is the attendee wearing the cat scarf. An extremely lascivious playboy, his attention quickly turns to Ser Shadow. Ser Shadow plays along, dancing with him and using his moves to garner Severus’s complete attention. At an opportune moment, he uses a chloroform napkin on the cat and then knocks the cat to the floor during a particularly deep dip.

Hurodash winds up talking to a bored male gremlin named Grimscour that is bored at the party and has some special fireworks that he wants to fire off to create a little entertainment and perhaps perturb Leylandra. Hurodash and Grimscour divide up the fireworks a and make a plan to drop them in the punch bowl at the foot of the stage where a bard is playing.
