Overview
The bow used by Alluria, the last of the 12 children of Lathander to reside in the lands of The Riding. After the body of Alluria was returned to its intended resting place, some essence of the consciousness of Alluria entered the bow.
Appearance
Initially it is a slender but exceptionally long bow of yew. In the hands of a dedicated user, the bow will change size to match the desires of its wielder. When inspected for arcane powers before the consciousness of Alluria entered it, a purple nimbus of exceeding large size but significantly of faded color appeared around the weapon.
History and Origin
- A vision that appeared during an Identify spell cast on her bow revealed a plea to come collect her dead body.
- Upon being returned to its intended resting place, the body of Alluria dissolved into stardust and sparkles, briefly formed into an outline of the torso of Alluria, and then entered the bow.
Usage and Effects
In the form of a short bow, it does 1d6 piercing damage. Magical properties cause it to be +1 to hit and to do +1 damage.
Additional magical effects:
- Called Shot: Once per day, the wielder can make a called shot which will automatically hit as if a 20 were rolled. This cannot be used against any earth-aspected creature.
- Erupting Earth: Once per day, the wielder can shoot at a point on the ground within 320 feet. A Dexterity check with DC equal to the distance divided by 10 is required to hit the spot. A failure results in no magical effect. If successful, a fountain of churned earth and stone erupts in a 20' cube centered on that point. Each creature in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw against your DC. Creatures take 3d12 bludgeoning damage on a failed check, half that on a successful one.
- Voice of Alluria: Every once in a while, the voice of Alluria can be summoned or will appear on its own to provide commentary.
