Plethamor is most prominently mentioned in the myths of The Riding as being responsible for the emergence of the Green River, which sprung from the Badcrag Mountains, poured across barren plains to the Forearc Basin. Those barren lands became arable land, broad forests, and plentiful fishing grounds. It is those lands that became The Riding.
She is the matriarch of The Riding Pantheon, typically depicted in human form as a young mother. The fellow members of the pantheon, with the exception of Amaunator, are depicted as her younger brothers and sisters.
