The Granite Promenade is the main street running down the center of the Garden District.  Each of these establishments is on the Promenade.  Private residences will be on side streets.

There are three specific sections inside the Narrows: the Merchant's Quarter, the Banking District, the Artificer's District. These are not official areas with strict borders, but instead are just areas typically radiating out from some specific spot.

The Merchant's Quarter

The Merchant's Quarter is largely businesses, shops and homes closely linked to activities within the Farthing Yards. Wagon maintenance and other shops are just within the Iron Gate. Other locations are typically within a few blocks of the Gate.

  • Chansyrl Fine Harness - Run by a grandmother and at least three granddaughters, Charsyrl makes and repairs all leather goods, including jackets, armor, caps, boots, etc.
  • Ironhead Arms - Run by two old adventurers, one sellsword and one caravan guard.  They wheel and deal in used arms and have contacts to hire and make available guards for hire.  They can't possibly make money, but they love to talk and deal.  Feng the half-orc is the sellsword, Rench is the guard. They'll hint at an underground fight club in a nearby abandoned warehouse.
  • Safe Journeys - Three huge sheds, with wagons in all staging of repair and assembly.  Just outside the postern gate to the Farthing Yards.  Burly, bearded brothers Thorsk and Asdan run this successful and high-quality shop.
  • Tantur Smithy - The Tantur family, Eldras and children, run the smithy.  His wife buys raw ingots from caravans from Darkstone.  She feels her husband does as well as the Orcish works.
  • Wauver's Wagonworks - Wauver doesn't do as high quality a job as Safe Journeys, but he'll do anything for a buck, including underhanded activities, sabotoge, or custom works. Martin Shimlock either works here or uses it as a base of operations.

The Banking District

The Banking District contains the fancy businesses, shops and homes west of Devil's Street.  After all, money attracts money. A small fountain in the center of the district's main crossroads is the symbolic center of the Banking District.

  • Greenmouth Partners Bank - This bank is run by seemingly cosmopolitan brothers, Lukan and Mikan Treeshaw. They'll do anything to get in good with the Polonians and the Southern Mercantile Company. if there are Polonian sympathizers in Highbridge, these guys are first on the list.
  • Highbridge People's Bank - Run by a shadowy group of investors. Ellen appears to be the branch manager, but the executives are notorious unavailable.
  • Overseas Import Export Bank - This bank is run by Yalari, one of the few, prominent people in town that are neither from the Riding or Polonia. He claims to be from a chain of mountainous isles far to the west named Bashiri. He appears to be human, only with a faint blue tinge to his skin.

The Artificer's District

The Artificer's District contains businesses, shops and homes that - in comparison to the Merchant's Quarter - people seek out, rather than those attempting to hawk their wares or maintain easy access to the Farthing Yards.

  • City Constabulary - Run by Harbuck, it has a small jail cell in the back which also appears to serve as additional cold storage for Top Butcher. The constabulary is allowed to police local matters, but reports to Polonian administrators for anything important.
  • The Dented Helm - A ramshackle two story tavern closer to the Artifacer's district.  Dominated by a large, warm taproom popular with local artisans and merchants alike.  Large copper candle lanterns dominate the tap room.  Occasional brawls but nothing serious.  Garlen runs the inn, Stannor is a carpenter when he gets work, a bartender when he doesn't.
  • Dornen Finestone - Small office for a quarry outside of town.  Elak Dornen runs it.  No nonsense, slightly annoyed that he has to be there.  He ranges far and wide into the hills.
  • Good Sundries - Sells lamps, curtains, rugs, books, and anything else.  The setup looks like an overdecorated, rundown mansion with a conservatory, a library, and multiple other rooms.  Endrith runs it, he's a shy little man that employs an army of children to search out items to buy and to deliver.
  • Jeweler - Felen works here, but every other comment is a veiled comment indicating that the customer might do better in Overtown.
  • Lorren's Bakery - Mangobari runs it.  Who's Lorren?  Sounds better than Mangobari.
  • Top Butcher - Four identical, squat stone buildings stand in a row: shop, smokehouse, personal residence and cold storage (including basement).  Run by Jalessa, her husband Harbuck is Head Constable.
